The NASCAR Cup Series begins the race weekend with practice and qualifying on Friday at Bristol Motor Speedway ahead of Saturday’s Bass Pro Shops Night Race.
All eyes will be on the tire wear through Friday’s on-track activity. In March, heavy tire wear impacted lap times during practice and qualifying before being a main storyline in the race won by Denny Hamlin.
Hamlin needs another good race weekend because he heads into the final race in the Round of 16 six points behind 12th place in the playoffs point standings.
