Spurs defender James-Turner signs new two-year deal

Tottenham Hotspur defender Amy James-Turner has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Lilywhites just a short time ago.

Turner joined Spurs back in summer 2022 following a spell with American National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Orlando Pride. The centre-back has gone on to make 36 appearances for the North Londoners in the Barclays Women’s Super League while she was an Adobe Women’s FA Cup runner-up with the club last season.

At the age of 33, James-Turner is one of the most experienced players in the Spurs squad and she remains an important character for the club both on and off the pitch. With Spurs aiming for continued success going into this season, the club have moved to secure James-Turner’s services for the next two years.

James-Turner will be hoping to help Spurs get the 2024/2025 season off to a winning start when the club play host to newly-promoted Crystal Palace at Brisbane Road this weekend. Robert Vilahamn’s side finished last season in sixth position in the Barclays Women’s Super League table and there is no reason why the North Londoners cannot kick on again this term.
