Real Madrid accuse La Liga of omitting serious facts in their derby match report

Real Madrid have taken action following the controversial Madrid derby, filing a written complaint against La Liga for allegedly omitting “several very serious incidents” from its official match report, reports El Chiringuito.

The complaint, which covers events before, during, and after the match between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid at the Civitas Metropolitano, was sent to relevant institutions.

What is the complaint about?

The complaint from Real Madrid highlights several key points that they claim were absent from La Liga’s standard official post-match report after Sunday’s controversial encounter.

Real Madrid, currently engaged in an ongoing conflict with La Liga, expressed concerns that the report neglected to mention the knife confiscated by police from an Atletico Madrid supporter.

Additionally, the complaint highlights the harassment goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois faced throughout the match, including chants of “Courtois, d*e!” that preceded a confrontation with the fans, culminating in thrown objects and a temporary suspension of the game.

Real Madrid also pointed to Atletico players approaching the southern stand after the match, where the Frente Atletico – known as the club’s most radical fan section – was situated.

It was from this area that objects and bottles were hurled at Courtois, along with a barrage of insults.

Furthermore, the complaint addresses reported racist insults directed at Vinicius Jr., noted by Jordan Bajo, a private photographer for several club players, who claimed on social media that he heard hundreds of fans chanting ‘mo**ey’ at the Brazilian.

Usually, it is the home team that responds to these match reports sent by La Liga to avoid potential sanctions. However, in this instance, the visiting team has taken the initiative to highlight these issues.

The complaint underscores the ongoing tensions between Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and La Liga, with the Merengues said to have grown ‘tired and frustrated’ after the latest events.
