NASCAR heads to Kansas Speedway in the throes of three playoffs among the national touring series, headlined by Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 Cup Series race to open the Round of 12.
Kansas’ reputation as the most underrated track on the schedule was further heightened in the spring when Kyle Larson beat Chris Buescher to the line for the win in the AdventHealth 400 in the closest finish in series history.
The track has been a good table setter for the rest of the playoffs. Joey Logano held off Kevin Harvick in 2020 en route to the championship title in what was an indictment of that racing package at the time. Logano and Matt Kenseth dueled in 2015, with Kenseth spinning after contact and setting up the famous wreck in Martinsville later in the playoffs. Last year, Tyler Reddick won in an OT finish over Denny Hamlin.
All three major series are in Kansas this weekend along with the ARCA Menards Series.
