Just in: Barcelona gem Gavi back in group training after 298 days out injured
In a huge boost for FC Barcelona, midfield prodigy Gavi returned to group training today for the first time after being sidelined with an ACL injury last year.
The 20-year-old midfield sensation has been out of action for 298 days, having suffered an ACL injury in November 2023 while playing for the Spanish national team.
Having undergone surgery, the La Masia gem has been working extremely hard on his rehabilitation and recovery and has pushed deadlines to make a much-awaited return to group training.
Barcelona shared a video of the 20-year-old being welcomed back to training by the traditional slaps on the back as he runs through between them.
The youngster is said to have done part of the training session with the squad today.

Gavi’s return is a huge boost for Barcelona as the team has missed him on the field, especially during the second half of last season.
With injuries hampering the team in midfield in the current campaign under new manager Hansi Flick, the 20-year-old’s availability will be a welcome boost.
However, while Gavi has made his comeback to group training today, the youngster is not expected to return to action right away.
After all, given the time he has been out of action for, as well as the nature of his injury, it is only prudent that Barcelona ease him back into action and not rush things.
But, it is a great sight to see him back training on the pitch. Welcome back, Gavi!
