Italian Journalist Warns Bayern Munich Target: ‘Leaving Inter Milan Has Destroyed The Careers’ Of PSG & Chelsea Stars

Italian journalist Riccardo Trevisani feels that Hakan Calhanoglu should think hard before leaving Inter Milan.

Speaking on Cronache di Spogliatoio, via FCInterNews, the journalist noted the examples of Milan Skriniar and Romelu Lukaku since they departed from the Nerazzurri.

Recent reports have indicated that German giants Bayern are keen to sign Calhanoglu.

Reportedly, there have been contacts between the Bavarians and the Turkish international’s agent.

Meanwhile, there have been reports that Bayern are just about ready to put an offer on the table for Inter.

In the meantime, Calhanoglu has rebuffed the rumours. The 30-year-old former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder made an official statement yesterday.

Calhanoglu stressed that he is “extremely happy” at Inter. He wrote of a desire to continue to win trophies with the Nerazzurri.

Nevertheless, the reported interest of Bayern is a reminder that a move away is always a possibility for a player like Calhanoglu.

And it would not be the first time that a big name player has left Inter in the last few years.

Skriniar and Lukaku are two high profile departures from the Nerazzurri. They can be added to a list that also contains Achraf Hakimi, Ivan Perisic, Andre Onana, and Marcelo Brozovic.

And as Italian journalist Trevisani points out, these transfers have not always worked out for the players involved.

A struggle to reproduce their Nerazzurri form elsewhere has been a persistent theme.

Trevisani Warns Hakan Calhanoglu: “Leaving Inter Destroyed Skriniar & Lukaku’s Careers”

Trevisani said that “Calhanoglu owes a lot to Inter and Inzaghi.”

“And before taking the step that destroyed Skriniar’s career, and brought Lukaku’s to a much lower level, he’ll have to think long and hard, fifteen times.”

“I’m not saying that if he has the chance to double his wages, he shouldn’t ask for a transfer,” Trevisani continued.

“But he’s in a good place in Milan. He’s enjoying his football at Inter.”

“I don’t think leaving would be a great option for him,” Trevisani suggested.
