Inter Milan & Juventus Ready To Battle For Ligue 1 Striker Also Targeted By Chelsea
Inter Milan and Juventus are ready to go head-to-head to try and sign Jonathan David next summer, with Chelsea also keen.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
24-year-old Canadian international David is all but certain to be one of the big names on the free agent market next summer.
The former Gent striker is out of contract with Lille next summer. His contract expires at the end of next June.
And there is no indication that David will sign a new deal with Lille.
The Ligue 1 club have tried to convince the Canadian to put pen to paper on an extension. But he is not inclined to do so.
Therefore, David will almost certainly be available on a free transfer at the end of this season.
David has stayed at Lille for a few seasons despite fairly persistent transfer rumours linking him with an exit.
But with the striker available without a transfer fee, he will become a particularly enticing prospect.

Naturally, David’s situation will mean that the race to sign him will be all about convincing the player.
It will not be necessary to negotiate with Lille.
Making an attractive offer to the Canadian, and convincing him that a club’s sporting project is right for him will be all that’s required.
According to Tuttosport, David has made clear that he would not rule out a move to any of Europe’s top leagues.
And it’s currently looking like the most prominent interest in David’s signature is coming from Serie A.
Both Inter and Juventus, Tuttosport report, see David as a major target for next summer.
But then from the Premier League, there is also some interest in the Canadian.
Tuttosport report that Chelsea the the English club most interested in signing David next summer.
