The Boston Bruins are looking to add to their roster, and it is not challenging to understand why. After entering the season with high expectations, they currently have an 8-9-3 record.

Things are not getting better, either. In their most recent matchup, they were pummelled by the rebuilding Columbus Blue Jackets by a 5-1 final score. They have now lost three straight games.
It is apparent that the Bruins could use a significant move right now. However, due to their limited cap space, the Bruins would likely need to move out an NHL roster player to land a notable piece. Because of this, NHL insider David Pagnotta named Charlie Coyle, Pavel Zacha, and Morgan Geekie as potential trade chips for the Bruins.

Coyle carries a $5.25 million cap hit until the end of the 2025-26 season and has an eight-team no-trade list. After posting career highs with 25 goals and 60 points last season, the 32-year-old has four goals, one assist, and a minus-10 rating in 20 games so far this season.
Like Coyle, Zacha has had an underwhelming start to the season. In 20 games, he has just three goals and seven points. He would be more than a rental for any potential interested clubs, as he has a $4.75 million cap hit until the end of the 2026-27 season. He also has a 10-team no-trade list.

Geekie has had a difficult start to season, as he has one goal, three assists, and a minus-7 rating in 15 games. He also has been scratched numerous times. This is certainly a step in the wrong direction for Geekie, as he set career highs with 17 goals, 22 assists, and 39 points just last season. He has a $2 million cap hit this season and is a pending restricted free agent.
