🎥 Disaster strikes as Red Bulls concede two howlers in Hudson River Derby
It’s one of the biggest Hudson River Derby clashes of all-time between NYCFC and the New York Red Bulls this evening in Harrison, but it’s a shocking start for the hosts.
With points at a premium on the night, a quick start was imperative for whichever side cold pull it off, but the Red Bulls have shot themselves in the foot from the jump.
It only took five minutes for NYCFC to snatch the lead but it required a gift from Red Bulls keeper Carlos Coronel, who inexplicably passed the ball straight to Maximiliano Moralez, who fired home from point-blank range.
Maxi Moralez reminding the Red Bulls what color New York is. 👀

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, a bad back pass found the path of Alonso Martínez just two minutes later, seeing NYCFC double their lead on thanks to another head-scratcher from the home side.

You couldn’t have written a worse start for the Red Bulls, but there is plenty of time to dig themselves out of the whole and pull off a potentially famous Hudson River Derby turnaround.
